I was interested in photography and videography from a very young age. My father was very involved in music and video production, so I wanted to immerse myself in this adventure. It all started with skateboarding in 2011. I loved taking videos of me and my friends to create montages at home. At the time, I was using a Sony cassette camcorder and a GoPro Hero 2. I was making videos in Adobe Premiere and posting them to YouTube. The quality was poor, but it was fun and I was improving without realizing it. In 2013, I founded First Century, a clothing company from which I produced my own products and my own photos/videos. Over the years, I continued to create all kinds of content and eventually purchased my first DSLR camera. Unknowingly, this sparked a desire for professional photography. So I made the decision to go into business in 2018 under the name GD photography. This year was my first year as a professional photographer and everything has changed since then. Whether it is my knowledge, my equipment, my creativity or my professional service, they've all been perfected.

1.Invoicing and finalization of a project:
Invoicing for a photography session is done at the end of the project. All photos will be sent with a watermark so you can make your photo selection. Subsequently, invoicing will be carried out before the photos are delivered. If more photos than expected have been chosen than previously agreed in the estimate, the billing will be adjusted accordingly. Minor changes to photos can be made at the customer's request. If the photographer judges that the requests are of significant intensity, editing fees may be applied (see section 6). Invoicing for a video project is done gradually. Since videography involves a lot of time, billing is done in two steps. Payment will be required before the editing period and the remainder will be made upon final billing. Regardless of the service, the minimum hourly rate is one hour.
2.Estimates:
An estimate is not a final price, it is an estimate. If additions must be made for the completion of the project, these will be specified before any changes. To complete an estimate, several questions will be asked. However, it is your responsibility to mention the essential elements that could affect the project (e.g.: restrictions, special requests, changes of plans, etc.). The estimate is free. A deposit of $50 will be required to reserve an appointment, but this amount will be subtracted from your total bill (see section 4).
3.Transportation:
Transportation costs are $0.35km. These transportation fees apply when the session location is outside the following regions: Gatineau, Ottawa, Chelsea, Cantley, Perkins and L'Ange-Gardien. Costs are calculated for the outward and return journeys, for example: The destination is 200 km away. Which is a total of 400 km round trip. Transportation costs must be paid before the start of the project to avoid cancellation en route or upon arrival at the destination (the distance not traveled will be reimbursed).
4.Reservations and cancellations:
Reserving an appointment must be made several days in advance, preferably. A deposit of $50 is required to reserve a date. The latter will be subtracted from the total invoice. Cancellation or rescheduling of a reservation must be made 48 hours in advance to ensure your deposit is recovered. In the event that weather conditions cause a cancellation, no penalty will be incurred. Only one cancellation or modification of appointment without penalty will be granted (if made at least 48 hours before). A second cancellation will result in the loss of your deposit.
5.Competition:
If a prize is displayed for a competition, it can be replaced by its credit value in order to take advantage of the services offered. The prize is valid for one year after claiming it. If the project location is outside the covered regions, fees will apply (see section 3). However, GD Capture offers, free of charge, the first 30 km for the winner. The selection of winners for a competition is done randomly and does not require any purschase.
6.Editing and design:
Editing is the period used to make photo/video montages. In this category, Graphic Design is also part of it (creation of logos, interfaces, animations, etc.). Generally, there is no cost for photo editing since it is included in the unit price of the photos. However, if the photos require major modifications, the use of Photoshop, the creation of logos or interfaces, this time will be billed with the hourly editing rate ($25/h).
